Community Need

University Place is not generally viewed as a community in need, yet 34.2% of the children in the University Place School District are on free or reduced lunch. In 2010, Families Unlimited Network served 4,977 families, which equals 18,792 individuals, at the UP Food Bank. We also helped 91 families with over a total of $14,500 to pay part of their rent or utility bill. At the Back to School Fair in August, 402 children received backpacks and supplies. Throughout the UP community, 196 families and 554 children received gifts and food at Christmas.

Donations

Families Unlimited Network relies on the generosity of the community to fund the food bank, family services and youth programs. Thank you for considering making a donation to FUN. A gift of $100 will provide 20 family meals. A gift of $20 will fund snacks for SPOT program kids. And your gift of $150 will help a family faced with a layoff pay part of their rent this month. All donations are tax deductible and because Families Unlimited Network is extremely careful about finances, less than 9% of money donated is spent on overhead and non-service related costs.

Currently donations must be made in person or by mail.  Please Click Here for our mailing address and phone number.

Volunteering

Families Unlimited Network can always use volunteers! Our volunteers allow us to do so much more for families in need and they validate the importance of the work we do for the community. They bring a variety of skills to us and perform a variety of duties, such as tutoring adolescents in school subjects, helping families “shop” at our food bank, preparing our facilities and coordinating events to further our mission of rebuilding families for lifetime transformation. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering with us, call our Executive Director, Cindy Huff, at 460-3134, ext. 101.
