Summer Lunches

Summer Lunch Program: Year-Round Nutritional Support

The Mission: Ensuring No Child Faces Seasonal Hunger When the school year ends, so do the consistent meals that thousands of local students rely on. For many families, providing 10 additional meals per child each week is a financial burden that can feel impossible to meet.

Families Unlimited Network ensures that summer break is a time for growth, not a time for hunger.

Why the Summer Gap Matters Food insecurity often peaks during the summer months.

Without school breakfast and lunch:

  • Strained Budgets: Families face higher grocery bills and utility costs.

  • The Summer Slide: Poor nutrition during the break can lead to physical and cognitive setbacks when school starts again in the fall.

  • Access Barriers: Many parents work during the day, making it difficult to prepare midday meals for children at home.

How the Program Works:

Open to All

We believe that access to food should be dignified and effortless. That is why our program is designed with zero barriers to entry:

  • No Income Limits: We do not ask for financial proof. If you need a meal, it is yours.

  • No Paperwork: There are no forms to fill out or registrations required.

  • Everyone Under 18: Any child or teen (18 and under) is welcome to join us.

  • Healthy and Fresh: We serve balanced, kid-friendly lunches that meet nutritional standards.

Where to Find Us

We bring the food to the community. Join us at any of our convenient neighborhood locations:

  • Chambers Upper Clubhouse Area

  • Sunset Terrace Community Grounds

  • Hidden Hills Playgrounds

How You Can Help This Summer Keeping this program free for everyone requires a true community effort.

Here is how you can help:

  • Financial Gifts: Help us purchase fresh produce and dairy for summer lunches.

  • Volunteer On-Site: We need friendly faces to help distribute meals and interact with the kids at our sites.

  • Spread the Word: Share this information with your neighbors, church, or sports teams.
