Volunteer Spotlight: Be The Heart

At Families Unlimited Network, our volunteers are more than just helpers. They are the heartbeat of University Place.

When you sort fresh produce, pack weekend meals for students, or greet a neighbor with a warm smile, you help build a stronger, more connected community.

Since 2021, the need in our area has almost doubled. We have met that challenge because people like you chose to help.

Ways You Can Make a Difference

Food Bank Operations
Help us turn donations into meals. Volunteers in our food bank make sure every neighbor leaves with healthy food and a sense
of dignity.

  • Roles: Sorting donations, stocking shelves, and assisting clients during shopping hours.

  • Impact: Help manage over 32,000 client visits annually.

Kid Packs & Youth Nutrition
Hunger is a problem every day, even on weekends. Join our team and help support the next generation.

  • Roles: Assembly line packing of nutritious weekend meal kits for local students.

  • Impact: Last year, volunteers helped deliver 43,494 meals to children in need.

Special Events & Seasonal Programs
From Back-to-School drives to Community Christmas, these roles help families during important times of the year.

  • Roles: Organizing school supplies, gift wrapping, and holiday meal distribution.

  • Impact: Helped 328 students and 92 families feel supported by the community this year.

Why Volunteer with FUN?

  • Local Impact: See the results of your work right here in Pierce County.

  • Flexible Scheduling: If you have two hours a month or ten hours a week, we have a place for you.
